Agh, why did Treasure have to go and make this? Now I had to waste a couple hours of my life just so I could play it and tell you all to stay well away from this stinker. It's another 2D action game just like Gunstar Heroes, or Dynamite Headdy, but that's about the only thing this game has going for, besides the whole McDonald's thing, which I don't even know what the point of having McDonald's in there is at all.

The premise of the game is simple, march through four levels to fight off a boss at the end of each in your search for the treasure, ooooo. At first you're finding pieces of a map that will lead you to the treasure, and then you complete the map and head off to get your bounty. On your way, you'll have to do the usual, platform jumping, killing mindless enemies, and fighting some awesome boss fights, but wait, what's this? That's right, the boss fights in this game are pure retarded, and there's only four of them to boot.

Yep, this is bad, four levels, one boss per each level, and the actual levels are pure boredom from start to finish. You get one attack, which is shooting some twinkly stars in a straight line that can be upgraded somewhat to make it go in a squiggly line. It's the same thing for the entire game, and you can only shoot one at a time, making the game very slow.

Graphics
Ronald looks like an idiot, but he does in real life too, so I guess they were spot on with him. The enemies are overused a lot, and they aren't even interesting in the least to begin with. Other characters, like other people from McDonald's, like that bird girl, and Hamburgler look pretty ridiculous too, so I guess the graphics aren't all that good. The backgrounds aren't even all that impressive. It's just average.

Sound
Certain songs are all right, but they're never anything special, and don't add anything to the game. They're overly happy, and not too catchy, and some are just annoying. I can barely even remember the music from the game it was so dull. Sound effects weren't anything special either, in fact, I don't even recall what Ronald sounds like when he shoots, or jumps, or if he made any sounds at all. I guess Treasure was just trying to get this game out of the way, so that they could get back to making their usual classic titles.

Gameplay
Ugh, this is slow, repetitive, uninspired, and boring. It's Dynamite Headdy and Gunstar Heroes in one, with the worst of each still there. You can only shoot in front of you, you only get one attack, and you can only shoot it one at a time, so you just stand there waiting for your twinkly stars to disappear so you can shoot again. From Dynamite Headdy, Ronald carries around a magic scarf that he can only throw up above him, and he can only use it to grab small handles that hang from above to pull himself up. That's all you'll be doing for the entire game, so get used to it.

Where'd all the great bosses from Treasure's other classics go? Here, you only fight four bosses total, and each one is fought in the exact same manner, and the way you fight is just stupid. To damage a boss, he first has to absorb some of your health before you can attack him. You can then hurt him for a short while until he becomes invincible again, and will then send some small minions at you so that you can replenish your health, and then repeat. Same thing for each boss, just as long and tedious each time, it really sucks compared to Treasure's other games.

Overall
I don't see any reason for anyone else to even bother touching this game. It has nothing here to make it an even average game. Everything is sub par, and it's like Treasure put this together in a couple hours, just so Sega could sell it using the McDonald's license that has nothing to do with the game, other then to give it some familiar characters. If I were you, I would stay very far away from this game, very far away indeed.
